Carina completes the Strait of Bonifacio swim, now for a A QUADRUPLE CROSSING of the Messina Straits

Amanzi_magazine_Carina_Bruwer_Swim_for_hope_set_offAfter waiting for the weather to subside with thunderstorms and and very rough seas forecast for the days preceding the attempt, Carina Bruwer’s attempt to cross the Strait of Bonifacio (15km) between Corsica (France) and Sardinia (Italy) on 15 June had to wait.

The chance arrived on the 17th June and off she went, all in support of #ChildhoodCancerAwareness and Little Fighters Cancer Trust! 4 hours 28 minutes, with tough conditions to compete with for the latter third of the 15km’s, she arrived. The wind even caused the boat to veer off course in some instances, but Carina is in good shape as always.
Amanzi_magazine_Carina_Bruwer_Swim_for_hope_13km_to_finishNow for two days of very well deserved rest, before the big one! A QUADRUPLE CROSSING of the Messina Straits between Sicily and Calabria which, if successful, will make her the first woman to cross this unpredictable stretch of ocean more than twice.
Please consider supporting Carina’s fundraising attempt for Little Fighters Cancer Trust as your way of saying well done and helping out at the same time.
